I know have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Being done feels great. I haven't felt this lazy since forever. I'm waiting to go back to Sweden so all I do now is just hang around and do nothing all day long. It feels kind of well deserved. I know that I will have tons of work when I get back to Sweden so I might as well use this time and chillax...

Procrastination galore...
In times of exams, I feel a need to update my blog. Not that I have anything interesting to say (you can tell by the number of posts in the last few months) but simply because I need to do something else to take a break from my revision. Reading about CBT, OCD and dementia isn't exactly the best way to keep me sane. I must say that I have zero motivation at the moment and can't wait till this exam is over. I will have completed my Bachelor of Science degree and it will be the best feeling in the world! Thursday evening cannot come quicker! At the same time, I do not know the material and I feel that a fail is what I have to face. Perhaps I should do some studying instead of updating my blog?

Don't you guys think Zooey Deschanel (girl from Yes Man) and Kate Perry (sings I kissed a girl) looks alike?

Stereotyping
If implicit stereotyping occurs (by definition, it occurs without the awareness, control, or intention of the individual, then are people still responsible for stereotype-consistent behavior or feelings that arise in response?

Kalle Anka på Julafton!
For all those none-Swedes out there, there is a tradition in Sweden where they always show Donald Duck and his friends on Christmas Eve. It's filled with clips from various Disney movies and shows. This is by far my favorite, and it ain't no Christmas without Kalle and his friends! (yes, Donald Duck in Swedish is Kalle Anka). I even tried to eat corn like they do in this clip! Unsuccessfully of course...

Distress in Rosengård
For a couple of days, Rosengård has been in turmoil after a mosque was closed down. There has been arson attacks, stones thrown, and even fireworks aimed and directed towards the police. I am quite disturbed by the current development, being a former resident of the area.
The question that always comes up in situations like this is how much force the police are allowed to use and if they are in any case using unnecessary force? According to people who have been interviewed, some teenagers and kids have been sprayed down with pepper spray and some have been beaten down with batons. This is being said to be too much force and the demonstrators retaliate with stones, homemade bombs and fireworks to make a stand.
In a situation like this, you do question people's statements as people are obviously trying to put their own side as the side being right and that the actions they are taking are justified. The general idea, especially amongst immigrant population in Malmö is that you never stand on the police side. I however, want to question that. Is the police really using unnecessary force? If you were the police and you were being shot at with fireworks, being attacked with stones, would you not try to ensure your own safety? Even if a 15 year old kid was the perpetrator, would you consider pepperspray to be excessive?
The situation has escalated to the point where a lot of people are either saying appease the demonstrators and give them what they want, whereas the other side argues for a military intervention. We can only wait and see I guess...
